Ron Cheek is our lead artist and leases the two studios at the front of the building as well as the large open space with the small stage where we will meet for breakfast on Saturday at 10:30 am. You can view some of Ron’s work at his website http://roncheekart.typepad.com/.

Ron also founded a school that he operates in the space he leases at the Studios at Lancaster Lofts: The Texas Academy of Figurative Art. You can read more about the Academy at http://www.tafastudio.org/TAFA/Home.html.

Also in residence at the Studios is Carol Ivey, an award-winning Fort Worth artist. You can read about her work and awards here. She teaches classes at the Studios through the Texas Artists Coalition on Wednesdays.

We also have Anne Allen, an artist in resident who shows her work actively in galleries throughout the area, but has a day job as one of our city’s public art project directors. Anne is supervising the artistic side of the renovation of the Near East Side East Lancaster Street enhancement project which will include decorative lighting and public art works. Also in residence is Charles Coldewey, an accomplished art teacher at Tarrant County College who recently showed his own three dimensional works at Gallery 414. One of his students was recently honored with a cash award at a recent TCC art competition.

This is all to say that we have some very talented, very professional artists in residence in the Studios at Lancaster Lofts and it is my great delight to have them.

Lancaster Lofts is home to several Fort Worth artists.

Built in 1926 as a warehouse, the Lancaster Lofts at 1324 E. Lancaster Ave., is a brick and masonry structure. The only true loft development in Fort Worth that offers units carved out of a historic warehouse with all the masonary, brick, old pipes, exposed plumbing and old concrete floors visible.

All three of the 924 sq. ft. units are bathed in a gorgeous northern exposure making them perfect for artists--or for lovers of beautiful light.
